HORSE REMEDIES

Horses: The wellbeing of your horse is in your hands

Meet your horse's physical needs, emotional needs, give them Love, quality time and attitude to enjoy a relationship of mutual joy.

The emotional wellbeing of your horse

Most people are aware of the physical needs of their horses - providing a diet that gives them the nutrients they need, providing warmth (coats) or shelter in the cold, looking after their feet, worming etc. Their emotional needs though are often overlooked or simply not realised.
Horses are extremely sensitive and intuitive creatures. They experience emotions and states that we experience - hurt, fear, anxiety, grief, anger, stubbornness, distrust, trust, love. YOUR state of mind is so important when you are around your horses - you would be surprised how much they pick up from you. Often with a stubborn behavioural or emotional problem in your horse, it is your attitude that needs changing! They can reflect your attitude to you! Remember, they look to you for direction and guidance, so always try to be calm and clear when around your horse. With a little patience, care and understanding, you can help your horse be happy, calm, willing to communicate and work with you, open and trusting of you at all times. By improving the emotional wellbeing of your horse, his / her general behaviour, performance and health all benefit. A happy horse is less likely to injure itself or be subject to colds and infections. (In simple terms, emotional stress effects the immune system, so a happy horse is usually more resistant.)

Flower essences and the emotional wellbeing of horses.

A simple but effective way to improve your horse's emotional well being is the use of flower essencs. Nature provides us with the most wonderful solutions to many problems. Flower essences are vibrational medicines, hence their effect on emotional states. They are non physical in nature, so non toxic. They are not a substitute for veterinary care but when needed can be used in conjunction.

Nature's Solutions (TM) flower essence remedies for horses

The following remedies are to assist you in providing for the emotional needs of your horses. They were formulated to assist in the treatment of some of the more common emotional needs and problems that occur in horses.

Trust your intuition in deciding which remedy is appropriate. When selecting remedies for your horse, it is also helpful to first try and establish what is “going on” with him/her.
e.g. is she perhaps flighty when passing a house with a dog because a dog once chased and bit her?

In other words, try and establish if something is causing the behaviour / symptoms. If so, it's usually very helpful to address the cause alongside the symptoms. Hence, the flightly horse could be given Calming remedy as well as Courage remedy, to address her fear of dogs as well as calm her down.

In addressing the cause as well as the symptoms, the animal is usually afforded a much greater chance to heal his imbalances and achieve greater emotional wellbeing. This is then reflected in a more positive and obvious change in their behaviour

The dosage is 10 drops once daily for 1 - 2 weeks (except in the case of the Calming Remedy, Colic Remedy and Support Remedy which can be given more frequently if needed.) A week is usually all that is needed to see improvement- occasionally it is necessary to continue the treatment for 2 weeks. If needed, the remedy can be repeated if there is a return of symptoms, again for a week.
If safe to do so, lift the lip of your horse and squirt directly on the inner lining of the mouth (gums, inner cheek or under tongue). If your horse won't accept the taste of the drops, dilute the drops in 2 - 5 ml of water and squirt this in. Alternatively, make a small hole in the top of a piece of carrot or apple and place drops in the hole or put the drops in any feed about to be eaten. If the horse you are treating is the only one using the water you provide, you can simply put the drops in any drinking water soon to be ingested.

We are also available to discuss prepaing "tailor-made" (custom made) remedies via a consultation...

Consultations:

The first 15 minutes of consultation is free with a fee of $5.00 (plus GST within Aus.) applying for each 10 minute (block) of consultation time that the Center thereafter engages in.
Consultations avaiable by e-mail / Skype / letter / phone.
(Customers to phone or Skype the Center, thank you)

The Center generally encourages consultations (- if only a brief 15 minute one) as discussing one's horse can often lead to a fuller or clearer picture of the situation emerging. e.g. a person may have a horse that is suddenly shying and anxious. The Calming Remedy may therefore seem the obvious choice of remedy. However, when discussing the horse, the person may recall that their horse recently lost a "pony pal", the horse next door who has moved to a new home. Therefore, the horse's anxiety may well be due to grief and anxiety relating to losing a friend. Hence, a combination of the Calming and Attachment remedies may better suit the situation than the Calming Remedy.

Flower essences should not replace important veterinarian attention!
Please note, behavioural problems can sometimes be an indication that an animal is sick.
